Junior Programme Beijing

 

Study Programme

This course is suitable for all young people still attending Junior, Middle or High School

Our curriculum requires the individual to participate as part of a team in the full range of activities which are designed to excite and encourage the use of English, all under the constant supervision of our teachers and monitors.

 

Location   

The camp will be held at the Goose and Duck Ranch, located about one hour from Beijing near the city of Huairou .

To allow parents to see the results of the course, they will be invited to visit the camp on the final Friday afternoon for an Open Afternoon where the students will receive their certificates and put on an English show.

 The minimum stay for this programme is two weeks.

 

Course content

  • 20 lessons per week (mornings: 09.00 - 12.25)
  • Each lesson is 45 minutes duration.
  • Maximum of 20 students per class.
  • Qualified and experienced EFL teachers (English as a Foreign Language Teachers) and a support teacher from China for each class
  • Multi-National kids environment
  • All materials and books are provided by the Camp
  • Camp clothing ( 2 T-Shirts, 2 Shorts and Baseball cap)
  • Certificate at conclusion of course
  • Transport includes: collection and return to Beijing .

 

 

Activities

Each afternoon is dedicated to activities from 15.00 to 18.00, Activities include:

Pony riding, Archery, Water Wars, Boating, Swimming, Fishing, Hiking, Volleyball, Badminton, Frisbee. Softball, Tennis, Football, Basketball, Baseball, Paintball, Shuffleboard, Billiards, Ping Pong, Darts, Pottery, Bowling, Mini Golf, Board Games etc.

 Each evening from 20.00 to 21.30

 Bonfire party: evening with English song, dance and story telling

22.00 Lights out.

 
 

Accommodation for Programme

Students are accommodated in fully fitted (bathroom and shower etc) small rustic cabins, with 3 students per cabin closely located for supervision.
Separate living accommodation for male and female.

Day 1 and 6 (Monday)

Meeting point 07.45 Depart for Camp at 08.00

09.00 Check in at Camp, allocation of accommodation

09.30 Classes begin, finishing at 12.30 , break for lunch

15.00 Afternoon activities begin

18.00 Finish activities and prepare for dinner

18.30 Dinner

20.00 Song and story time at the Bonfire

21.30 Bedtime, lights out at 22.00

Day 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9 (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)

07.30 Wake up call

• Breakfast

09.00 Class begins and the remainder of the day is the same as Day 1

Day 5 (Friday)

As day 2 etc, except depart for Beijing at 17.00

Day 10 (Final Friday)

Morning as all other mornings, parents are invited for the afternoon to attend a show organised by the students and for the Certificate awarding. Transport is provided for those who require it

Camp finishes at 17.30
