The latest and most ambitious addition to the international
rugby scene, the IRB World Sevens Series sets in place
another important element in the IRB's drive to establish
rugby as a truly global sport. In the third year of
the World Sevens Series the IRB have granted the Chinese
Rugby Union the sanction to hold the 2002 IRB World
Sevens Series Beijing Rugby Sevens ('Beijing 7s'). This
is the first time a leg of the Series will be held in
Beijing. Participating Teams include Argentina, Australia,
Canada, China, Chinese Taipei, England, Fiji, Hong Kong
China, Japan, Korea, France, New Zealand, Samoa, South
